Books - How to create the index.

Because the Descendant & Ancestor Books are output to a word processor, instructions for creating an index vary according to the word processor you are using. In general you will need to do the following:

1. Go to the very end of the Descendant Book (the end of the last page).
2. If using Microsoft Word: select Insert, Reference on the menu bar, then select Index and Tables and click OK.
3. If using WordPerfect select Tools on the menu bar, click on Generate, and click OK.

Note: Depending on the version of Word or WordPerfect you are using, instructions may differ slightly. Please see your Word or WordPerfect program help file for further information.

Microsoft Works and WordPad do not have the ability to create indexes. To compensate for this, the program automatically creates an index based on paragraph numbers. This index is created when the Descendant Book is prepared
